CHINESE MEDICINE ORGAN CLOCK

Tuesday, May 28, 2024 8:59 AM

From the book Chinese Medicine" by Siamak F. Shirazi, Lac, DOM & Julie A. Shirley BS, DEM

From the perspective of Chinese Medicine, certain hours of the day correlate to certain organs in the body. Experiencing a symptom that occurs at or around the same time each day, may be linked to an imbalance in a particular organ system.

For example, waking between the hours of 1:00 AM and 3:00 AM may indicate a Liver imbalance. It is also believed that the opposing 12 hour period is the time when an organ system should rest. For example since the Small Intestine is most active during the time period of 1:00 PM and 3:00 PM, its rest period should be 1:00 AM to 3:00 AM.

Schedule an appointment to find out which organ needs support which will be conducive to better sleep.
