Sugars;
It is important for all of us to realize that sugar is addictive.16 It also feeds disease. A good example that illustrates how sugar feeds disease if a PET scan. Medical doctors use PET scans to look for cancer. They inject patients with a sugar solution and take a picture of their bones (like an x-ray). If that person does have cancer, they light up like a Christmas tree because the cancer goes right for the sugar. Cancer feeds off of the sugar solution like ants at a picnic. Bacteria, viruses, fungus, yeast, and parasites all love sugar. Sugar is an immunosuppressant, which means it shuts off the immune system for a period of time. That is like a bank turning off all its alarms and telling robbers to come on in. It also causes mineral imbalances, which may not seem like a big deal, but it’s huge. For the body to digest one sugar molecule, it needs fifty-six molecules of magnesium. Magnesium is a crucial mineral because it plays a key role in bone formation, healthy muscle, nerve, and immune function, and it helps with healthy heart rhythm.15 Without minerals available for the body to use in all its processes, the body will have to pull them from tissues and bones.
